Raised in the South of England and shaped by food that feeds my soul, I’m here to share honest, experience-driven reviews from around the world, from the crisp winters of Edinburgh to the vibrant bustle of Asia. For me, food and restaurants are never just about what’s on the plate; they’re about the stories, the memories, and the way great writing can bring a moment to life.

Too often today, reviews are filtered, paid for, or written without any real experience. We’re encouraged to judge places by their star ratings or by how “viral” they’ve become, rather than by what they truly offer. I want to do the opposite. I go off the beaten path, seeking out spots that might not even exist online, to remind you that the best meals aren’t always found online.

A Lifelong Hunger for Adventure

My food journey didn’t start in a professional kitchen; it started with a passport. From a very young age, I was lucky enough to travel the world with my family, tasting the distinct “delights” of different cultures – from high-end dining in the UK to the vibrant, aromatic street stalls of distant countries.

Those early memories taught me that food is the universal language of travel. During my gap year across Africa and Asia, I realised I didn’t just want to eat these flavours – I wanted to write about them. 

From the Cobbles of Edinburgh to the Streets of KL

When I moved to Edinburgh for university, I spent two years hunting for the best “cheap eats” the city had to offer. Living on a student budget didn’t mean I had to compromise on flavour; it just meant I had to look harder. I started a blog dedicated to those hidden gems, proving that some of the best meals in Scotland are found in the most unassuming corners.

Now, my studies have brought me to Malaysia, where my culinary map has expanded once again. From the bustling hawker stalls of Kuala Lumpur to the random eateries packed with locals, I am continuing to document Southeast Asia’s incredible food scene.

Today, my passion has evolved into a professional pursuit. Alongside this blog, I am currently an Intern at Expat Magazine. This role allows me to bridge the gap between a “budget foodie” and a “food journalist,” giving me unique access to the industry and a platform to share deeper insights into the regional food scene.
